Travel information and venue

COMING TO BORDEAUX

The city of Bordeaux is served by the Bordeaux-Mérignac airport (BOD) and by a high-speed train connection directly from Paris. Trains depart from the Montparnasse station or from Charles de Gaulle airport. Train tickets can be purchased online.

The city center of Bordeaux can be reached by public transport:

  • From the airport: bus line 1 to Place de la Victoire (about 1 hour) or direct airport shuttle to the train station (about 30 minutes)
  • From the train station to Porte de Bourgogne and Quinconces: tram line C

Bordeaux transport tickets can be purchased at the airport, at tram stops, or on buses. Single tickets cost 1.6 EUR for 1 hour, including connections. More information can be found on the transport company website and the local tourist office. In addition, there are several certified taxi companies operating between the airport and Bordeaux.

WEATHER CONDITIONS

Bordeaux is characterized by an oceanic climate with warm summers and mild, rainy winters. During the meeting we expect a daily mean of 15°C (59°F) with highs around 20°C (67°F) and lows around 10°C (50°F). Scattered showers are common in that period, therefore we suggest bringing an umbrella and adequate clothing.
